Ashes

ASHES-is a play that uses monologues, poems, and vignettes to breathe life into the original stories chronicled in Zoe’s From Ashes To Angel’s Dust: A Journey Through Womanhood and includes new stories about the media, campus sexual assault, body image, and the journey to self-love. Ashes is the story of our mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and sisters!

In 2004, I interviewed survivors about their experiences with domestic and sexual violence. From Ashes to Angel’s Dust: A Journey Through Womanhood is the book that emerged from those conversations. ASHES is the play adapted from stories chronicled in ASHES has had many successful performances including, Yale, The White House’s United State of Women Summit in 2016, Smith College, The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and Brown University.
